Audra Sichler was born and raised in Queens, NY. She attended high school and college in Manhattan.
Upon getting married, she moved to the suburbs of New York City where she enjoys an active and healthy lifestyle with her family while she continues to build a legacy for others to follow.

For more than twenty years, Audra built a life alongside her high school sweetheart, George, an NYPD detective. Their marriage was shaped by a reality familiar to first responder families everywhere—the unpredictable schedules, missed moments, late nights, and quiet worry that comes with loving someone who serves.
While George answered the call, Audra learned how to hold everything together at home. She raised their children, built a career, and developed the independence and resilience required when the person you love runs toward what everyone else runs from.
But service was only one part of their story.
Audra also endured the unimaginable loss of their first son, Jake. That loss forever changed her understanding of grief, strength, and what it means to keep moving forward when life doesn't go as planned.
Through marriage, motherhood, loss, and decades beside the badge, Audra came to understand something rarely spoken about:
The person who serves carries the badge. But the family carries the weight, too.

That truth became the foundation for The Wait of the Badge—a story born from lived experience and a voice for the families who quietly wait, worry, sacrifice, and stand strong behind those who serve.

What began with one career became something much bigger.
George dedicated twenty years to the NYPD and then continued his service as an EMT, a Technical Rescue Technician in their local county.
George served as an NYPD detective two decades.
Jeff pursued the Air Force Special Warfare pipeline, answering his own call to service.
Summer followed a path into aviation.
For the Sichler family, service was never limited to one uniform, one profession, or one generation. It became part of their identity—a shared commitment to discipline, sacrifice, resilience, and something greater than themselves.

Audra began her entrepreneurial journey in 2000, building businesses and learning firsthand what it takes to lead, adapt, and keep moving forward through uncertainty.
Entrepreneurship taught her discipline. It strengthened her resilience. It taught her how to serve people, solve problems, and lead with both strength and compassion.
Those lessons became another part of the foundation she carries into her work today.

Today, Audra brings every part of her journey together—marriage, motherhood, loss, service, entrepreneurship, and resilience—to help others feel seen, understood, and stronger in their own lives.
Through her book, Married to the Badge, she gives a voice to the families who carry the unseen weight behind those who serve.
Through speaking, she brings honest conversations about resilience, identity, family, loss, and purpose to stages and communities.
And through The Resilience Lab, she is building something bigger: a space centered on helping people turn adversity into strength without losing the compassion, connection, and authenticity that make them who they are.
Audra's story isn't about having all the answers. It's about what happens when life asks you to carry more than you thought you could—and choosing to build something meaningful from it.
